About the position

Our client, a leader is their field, is looking for a Governance Assistant to join their team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Taking minutes during meetings and following up on action items

  • Supporting statutory and regulatory compliance, including the Companies Act and financial services regulations

  • Assisting with implementing governance frameworks and policies
  • Conducting research on evolving governance and regulatory requirements
  • Managing entity administration tasks
  • Liaising with external legal advisors, auditors, and service providers
  • Maintaining organised electronic and physical filing systems
  • Providing administrative and governance support to the Company Secretary

Requirements:

  • Degree in Law/Governance, or related discipline

  • 2 - 5 years' experience in a company secretarial, legal, compliance, or governance role (internship experience considered)

  • Strong understanding of corporate governance principles and company law
  • Understanding of King IV regulations
  • Understanding of Asset Management regulations
  • Good report writing and research skills
  • Exposure to asset management, insurance and financial service
  • Experience working with multiple entities and cross-border jurisdictions is desirable
  • Experience working with Diligent is advantageous
