About the position

Well established flower grower who exports and distributes flowers nationally has a vacancy for the abovementioned who will ensure full compliance with GlobalGAP standards, manage carbon footprints measurement and reduction, oversee environmental sustainability practices with the floriculture sector. Responsibilities:
Implement, maintain and manage GlobalGAP certification for flower farms and packhouses.
Prepare for and coordinate internal and external audits, including corrective action plans.
Maintain accurate records related to traceability, worker welfare and environmental compliance.
Train farm and packhouse staff on GlobalGAP requirements and procedures.
Ensure compliance with export and customer requirements specific to the flower industry.
Measure, monitor and report the carbon footprint of flower production activities, including energy use, irrigation, fertilizers, chemicals and logistics.
Compile Sustainability and carbon footprint reports for management, customers and certification bodies.
Ensure compliance with South African environmental legislation and industry best practices.
Implement environmental management plans covering water usage, soil health, waste management, chemical handling and biodiversity protection.
Monitor and manage environmental risks associated with floriculture operations.
Promote sustainable flower production and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
Qualification in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or similar
Min 3-5 yrs exp in GlobaLGAP compliance (flower or agricultural sector preferred)
Exp in carbon footprint calculation and environmental reporting.
Knowledge of floriculture production systems and export standards.
Valid drivers licence.
