Our client, a leading FMCG manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced General Works Manager to lead and manage all factory operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving production performance, managing manufacturing teams, ensuring quality standards are achieved, controlling operational costs, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all factory operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and operational objectives are achieved.
- Develop and implement production plans while monitoring manufacturing performance, productivity, costs, and efficiencies.
- Manage production, maintenance, quality, budgeting, asset management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive operational excellence through effective planning, process optimisation, and preventative maintenance programmes.
- Monitor finished goods inventory and production output to meet customer demand while maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the factory management team through succession planning, coaching, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and quality management systems.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and other departments to ensure efficient business operations.
- Analyse operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare and manage operational budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving overall plant performance.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' manufacturing experience within an FMCG environment.
- Minimum 10 years' experience within continuous manufacturing operations.
- Previous senior management experience in a similar manufacturing leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of production planning, budgeting, quality management, maintenance, and operational excellence.
- Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
- Knowledge of integrated manufacturing and business systems.
