General Manager - Manufacturing

About the position

An exciting opportunity exists for an entrepreneurial and commercially strong General Manager, Sales Leader or Business leader with demonstrated experience in sales and manufacturing or production environments.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the operations, strengthen customer relationships, identify new opportunities and take full accountability for business performance
• Create alignment between sales, customers and factory operations
• Encourage accountability, initiative and commercial thinking across the business
• Take overall responsibility for the commercial performance and growth of the business
• Assume full accountability for P&L and Financial Management
• Develop and execute budgets and ensure delivery against agreed financial targets
• Identify, pursue and convert new commercial opportunities to improve revenue, margins and overall business performance
• Maintain a strong awareness of factory operations and their impact on the customer experience
• Work closely with the Factory Manager to ensure effective coordination between commercial and operational activities
• Make informed decisions around stock and inventory requirements
• Balance sales growth with sound operational execution

Requirements:

• Strong sales and commercial experience
• Experience working with budgets, profitability and/or P&L accountability
• Strong customer orientation and relationship ability
• Operational understanding to appreciate the importance of factory performance and execution
• Strong understanding of stock management, procurement and supply chain
• Must be hands-on and take accountability for outcomes
• Cape Town based
