About the position
DBN000194 - General Manager Farming - Malawi
Purpose of The Job:
To lead and manage an integrated sugarcane farming, wildlife and community operation in southern Malawi. Please note application process at bottom of advert.
Required Qualifications:
- Internationally recognised Degree or Diploma in Agriculture
Technical Competencies & Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing a large sugarcane farm
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, particularly centre pivots
- Proven track record managing supervisors and labour
- Strong financial skills
- Budgets
- Cashflow management
- Accounting ability – advantageous
- Experience overseeing a large integrated farm workshop
- Knowledge and ability to ensure compliance with international SHEQ standards
Behavioural Competencies:
- Driven with high energy levels
- Unquestionable integrity
- Strong initiative & able to work independently
- A passion for wildlife and environment
- Diplomatic with a strong sense of community & social responsibility
- Willingness to work long and odd hours (as a farm dictates)
