About the position
A leading South African parastatal undergoing significant structural transformation is seeking a General Manager: Human Capital Operations. This is a newly created, mission-critical executive role reporting directly to the Chief People Officer.
The organisation is executing an unbundling strategy, and this role will be central to shaping how HC operates across future entities. This is a line executive position with full accountability, C-suite visibility, and an enterprise-wide mandate across an organisation of substantial scale.
Requirements:
- Qualification: B Degree / B Tech at NQF7 (360 credits) in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience: 10+ years in a management position in a human capital environment
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement enterprise-wide HC operations strategies aligned to organisational transformation objectives
- Drive talent acquisition, deployment, workforce planning, reward compliance, and HC analytics at scale
- Lead the operational alignment of HC transformation, including digitisation and enterprise-wide HC technology deployment
- Drive organisational change, culture transformation, and labour relations in a highly unionised environment
- Lead HC project portfolio and employee services, including SLA management with Shared Services
- Drive governance, risk, and compliance, including PFMA alignment, policy review, and audit committee engagement
- Lead the HC operations team with full budget and performance accountability
