About the position
General Manager EE/AA, Northern Cape
As the GM you will be the heartbeat of the lodge, balancing luxury hospitality with the serenity of the wilderness. You'll lead with vision, ensuring seamless lodge operations across food & beverage, rooms division, guest services, and property maintenance.
You will:
- Champion exceptional guest experiences in a 5-star environment.
- Oversee budgets, forecasting, and financial performance to maximize profitability.
- Inspire, train, and mentor a passionate team, creating a culture of excellence.
- Drive quality control and uphold the highest safari lodge standards.
- Manage procurement, stock control, and supplier relationships with precision.
- Lead with calm authority in resolving challenges and ensuring smooth operations.
Requirements
- Must be from or currently living in the Northern Cape.
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality or Business Management (minimum 3 years).
- 15 + years of hospitality experience, with at least 10 years in leadership at a 4- or 5-star property.
- Experience managing various departments such as Restaurant (Back and Front of House), Housekeeping, Garden and Maintenance & and Reception
- Experience managing a large staff complement of between 80-100 staff
- Strong track record in operations management, including F&B, Rooms, and Facilities.
- Proven financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PMS & POS systems.
- Exceptional leadership, training, and team development skills.
- Flexible, resilient, and solutions-driven with impeccable attention to detail.
- Knowledge of stock control, procurement, and supplier management.
- Own transport & accommodation essential.
- Sober habits required.
