About the position
The Analyst acts as the link between the business and technical delivery teams. The role is responsible for understanding business requirements and translating them into clear, practical functional and technical specifications that can be developed, tested and delivered.
The Analyst owns requirements from initial analysis through to delivery, testing and business acceptance, ensuring that solutions meet the agreed business needs and minimise rework.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand and document requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and process walkthroughs.
- Analyse business needs and identify gaps, risks, dependencies and assumptions.
- Document current and future-state business processes.
- Ensure requirements are clear, complete and achievable.
- Develop functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Document business rules, process flows, validations, calculations, roles and permissions.
- Define exception scenarios and expected system behaviour.
- Obtain business approval and sign-off on requirements before development.
- Translate functional requirements into clear technical specifications.
- Document system changes, data requirements and integrations.
- Define API/interface requirements and data mappings where applicable.
- Document non-functional requirements such as performance, security, availability and audit requirements.
- Work with developers and solution architects to confirm technical feasibility.
- Support development teams by clarifying requirements and intended system behaviour.
- Maintain requirements traceability from business need through to delivery and testing.
- Support backlog refinement and ensure requirements are ready for development.
- Develop or review test scenarios and support SIT and UAT.
- Assist with defect investigation and resolution.
- Support release, implementation and handover activities.
- Communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Assess the impact of proposed changes on scope, cost, timelines, risks and dependencies.
- Maintain documentation, version control and change history.
- Ensure stakeholders remain aligned on requirements, priorities and agreed solutions.

RequirementsMinimum Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst or similar role.
- Diploma in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- Strong requirements gathering and analysis skills.
- Experience translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
- Experience working with software development and delivery teams.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with testing, UAT and defect management.
- Ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Experience with BPMN or process modelling.
- Experience with APIs, integrations and data mapping.
