About the position

We're looking for a young, dynamic FULL-TIME DEMONSTRATOR to join our awesome TRAINING TEAM to demonstrate and explain the features and benefits of our range of Power Tools and accessories. Interact and educate customers on products to increase sales of the Vermont Sales brands.

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A punctual and presentable individual who has great interpersonal and communication skills. Someone who is well organized, pro-active and able to work without constant supervision. Must have excellent product and market knowledge and be able to travel. A team player who has a friendly demeanor and excellent work ethics. Must be willing to work overtime when needed and attend special events (i.e., tradeshows, Expo's etc.).

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DEMONSTRATOR...

  • Conduct product demonstrations on all Vermont Sales brands.
  • Demonstrations at retail stores, shows, clubs, events, project builds, workshops, and end users.
  • Training other demonstrators and developing demo routines to this effect.
  • Maintaining a demo schedule 2-3 months in advance.
  • Work to market and generate interest in conjunction with retail partners.
  • Ensuring you use marketing material like posters, invitations, emailers, and advertising in media.
  • Must be able to assist with all projects when required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, overtime, and assist at special events (Hobby X, Open Day etc).
  • Performing duties other than those linked to your job title as/when required.
  • Maintain demonstration equipment.
  • Must keep a log of all demo times at various customers.
  • Ensure customers complete the demo feedback form for each demonstration.
  • Provide weekly report and send to brand manager.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in a sales environment
  • Power tool & accessory product knowledge is an advantage
  • Customer focussed
  • Ability to handle unexpected changes in your daily routine and adapt, plan, re-arrange the rest of your duties to maximize your day accordingly
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills a must
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to handle pressure and multiple instructions

QUALIFICATION & KNOWLEDGE

  • A Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
  • A valid driver's license with no infringements or outstanding fines

OTHER

  • Must live in Durban or surrounding area to serve coastal and in-land customers

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in a sales environment
