About the position
Qualified and experienced Foundation Phase Teachers are required to teach Grades 1, 2, and 3. The successful candidates must demonstrate strong early literacy and numeracy instruction, excellent classroom management, and a passion for guiding young learners through critical developmental years.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase) or equivalent
- SACE certification
- 2-5 years classroom experience teaching Foundation Phase learners
- Proven CAPS curriculum experience
- Strong understanding of phonics, reading development, handwriting, numeracy foundations, and age-appropriate milestones
- Proven classroom discipline, structured routines, and learner support strategies
- Computer literacy and confidence integrating IT into teaching and learning
Key Performance Areas:
- Co-teach within a shared Foundation Phase class, with joint responsibility for planning, delivery, assessment, and pastoral care
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging lessons using play-based, enquiry-driven, and experiential learning approaches
- Facilitate learning across Learning Hubs and Enquiry Studios, supporting small-group, guided, and independent learning
- Assess, monitor, and document learner progress, providing targeted support and intervention where required
- Create a nurturing, well-managed learning environment that supports movement, curiosity, and differentiated instruction
- Build strong, respectful relationships with learners, colleagues, and parents
- Participate actively in team planning, professional dialogue, and ongoing development
- Contribute to the growth and shaping of a modern, future-focused Foundation Phase model
