About the position

Daily duties and responsibilities:

  • To check if there are always enough pallets for the pickers and receiving.
  • Check if the pickers are cleaning the aisle-each person's name is attached to an area(NOT ALLOWED TO GO HOME WITH A DIRTY DC)
  • Check if the Sin bin is neat and tidy. -Communicate to Management
  • Report if we need to order-pallet /machine wrap.
  • If second checks are done-pallets need to be wrapped (no pallets will wrap the day of dispatch)
  • If the pickers report a problem, they need to address it with the management.

(example if stock is not in the bin)

  • You need to walk the floor and make sure that all products have an HU. If not addressed with management to fix.
  • Second checkers need to mark on the paper that the second check is done.
  • Check -Hyster services and report to the management.
  • Check for battery water and report to the management (inform in advance)
  • Sin bin stock (short, dated stock) to be moved to sin bin with scanner and physically; page to be signed and manager to check if all stock has been moved to sin bin and signed.
  • Pallet count for stores needs to be given to Despatch a day before delivery.
  • To ensure that all stores are on the correct lines.
  • Make sure the person that Ship stores -is only allowed to do when trucks are loaded.
  • To report if there is a problem with the scanners.
  • At the end of the day -make sure all the picker's scanners are on charge.
  • Report to the office to make sure that all the stock has been moved out of receiving (after each delivery)
  • Waste needs to be removed from the sin bin and put separately on a waste pallet (if it gets too much then he needs to report to the manager so that we can arrange with the waste people to fetch it)
  • Upstairs- make sure the canteen is neat and tidy (clothing neat and tidy)
  • Upstairs- staff need to clean up after using the facilities
  • Outside- pallets packed correctly and no papers lying around.
  • Make sure hysters are on charge before leaving.
  • Bins -need to be emptied twice a day
  • Staff needs to be down stair by 07:15
  • Report to management if staff are absent.
  • Make sure that the staff follows the tea/lunch schedule- NOT ALL STAFF CAN BE ON LUNCH
  • New staff member: needs to be trained by the person that the management has appointed.
  • If there is a problem in the DC address it with management as soon as possible, not end of the day.
  • If staff do not have work send them to management for a task.
  • Make sure all staff follow company procedures.
  • Assist receiving / pickers / second checkers / Hyster drivers /loading trucks where needed in the dc.

  • 1 to 2 years Team Leader & Supervisor

Desired Qualification Level:

  • Grade 12 / Matric

-2-3 Years experience in DC and cold storage enviroment.

-Must be willing to work on weekends when neccessary
