The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of rotating equipment – including compressors (oil-injected/oil-free), centrifugal blowers, fans, and turbines – across customer sites. This role involves both hands-on service work and client-facing interaction, ensuring equipment uptime, performance reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Trade Tested Fitter or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with rotating equipment in mining, industrial, or power plant environments
- Knowledge of centrifugal compressors, roots blowers, fans, and steam/gas turbines
- Experience in multi-brand service environments (compressors & controllers)
- Experience in plant commissioning and laser alignment techniques
- Must be customer-focused, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently or in teams
- Ability to travel extensively across customer sites
- Valid driver’s license essential
- Medical fit or able to secure fitness certificate
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain compressors, turbines, fans, and blowers
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform troubleshooting on rotating equipment
- Interpret technical drawings and use diagnostic tools
- Conduct laser alignment and support equipment commissioning
- Complete preventative maintenance and statutory inspections
- Generate service reports and manage service documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and site standards
- Support workshop activities and customer site needs as required
