Key Duties(Fitters)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Assemble, install, and align mechanical equipment and components.
- Fit, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, pumps, tanks, and related equipment.
- Measure, cut, thread, and prepare materials according to specifications.
- Inspect equipment and identify faults, defects, or wear.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and systems.
- Replace damaged or worn components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct pressure testing and leak testing where required.
- Ensure equipment operates according to safety and quality standards.
- Assist with shutdowns, commissioning, and plant maintenance activities.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Complete maintenance reports and job documentation.
