About the position
Location: Atlantis Industrial, Cape Town, South Africa
Salary Range: R15,000 R19,000 per month (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 1-3 years
Certification: Red Seal Trade Test (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and equipment across the production floor
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on high-tonnage moulding machines
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform timely corrective actions
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and repair records
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure optimal machine performance
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards
- Participate in shift rotations and respond to urgent maintenance requirements as needed
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
- Red Seal Trade Test Fitter (preferred)
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
