Job Title: Fitter and Turner - Germiston.
Salary: R30,000 to R45,000 + negotiable depending on experience.

The Opportunity

This role ensures all mechanical assets function at required production levels. You maintain exact physical measurements during daily valve manufacturing tasks. The position helps the factory production team reduce equipment downtime. Efficient machinery repairs ensure the division hits assigned monthly output targets.

The Company

The business provides water infrastructure solutions and fluid handling technology. They manufacture large pipe systems, ductile iron pipes, and industrial valves. The organization serves water utilities, mining operations, and large infrastructure developers.

What You'll Be Doing

• Study blueprints and technical drawings for assigned physical machining tasks.
• Set up and operate manual lathes and specific milling machines.
• Perform required welding on metal components and related industrial valves.
• Assemble and install mechanical valve systems and associated machine parts.
• Diagnose mechanical faults in production machinery and related plant equipment.

Required Qualifications

• Hold a valid Section 13 or Section 28 Red Seal Trade Test.

Required Experience

• Provide eight years of post-trade experience in practical mechanical engineering.
• Demonstrate direct experience in manufacturing and refurbishing industrial metal valves.
• Apply proficiency in welding techniques for pressurized fluid transfer components.
• Troubleshoot heavy industrial manufacturing machinery on a regular daily basis.
• Work within recognized ISO quality standards for physical precision engineering.
