About the position

Trade tested Fitter & Turner who has a minimum of 5 yrs experience working with seamers and cookers within the canning industry required at well established food manufacturer in the West Rand. You must have reliable transport and be willing to work shifts. Should you have any queries, call Antoinette or Kaylin on 0861 FENRIS (336747).

Responsibilities:
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance as assigned, including cleaning, and lubricating in order to maintain the proper working order of filling and seaming equipment and machinery.
Dismantle, evaluate, and rebuild factory equipment as needed. Focus on quality of workmanship by doing the job right the first time and be accountable for results.
Make decisions that are "best for the business" with regards to maintenance and overall productivity.
Keep accurate up to date records of work orders, maintenance activities, and needed repairs utilizing Shopware to maintain proper records.
Document all fault finding and root cause analysis using the provided systems (Shopware/Proper Hand overs).
Maintain continuity among work teams by using DMS/Shopware to document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Follow Maintenance Standard Procedures and seek to improve machinery specific procedures where possible.
Share knowledge and experience with others including dedicated training as assigned.
Be proactive & preventative to eliminate downtimes prematurely and increase efficiencies.

Requirements:
Qualified Fitter & Turner (NTC3 & Trade Test Certificate) or equivalent qualification
Experience in Canning is compulsory.
Experience in Seamers, Cookers and general FMCG plant equipment
At least 5 Years proven experience in FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) environment.
Microsoft Office package (MS Excel, MS Outlook) and computer maintenance management system.
Must be able and willing to work shifts, extended hours and perform standby duties.
Must have reliable transport to and from work.
