About the position
We are seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to support major engineering and infrastructure projects within a dynamic consulting environment. The role focuses on fire risk management, compliance, and design integration across complex industrial and mining projects.
This is an opportunity to work on large-scale, multidisciplinary projects, ensuring fire safety standards are embedded from concept through to execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review fire protection and fire detection system designs
- Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses
- Ensure compliance with fire safety standards and regulations
- Support multidisciplinary engineering teams with fire safety integration
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation
- Participate in HAZOP and HAZID reviews
- Provide input into emergency response planning
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and commissioning support
- Engage with clients, contractors, and authorities
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in fire engineering within industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems
- Experience in EPCM or consulting environment
- Familiarity with NFPA, ISO or equivalent standards
- Fire modelling experience advantageous
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and safety focus
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Willingness to travel to project sites
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
