Job Title: Fire Detection Technical Programmer - Cape Town 

Salary Range: R18K to R28K negotiable depending on experience.

This role translates fire safety designs into functional system logic daily. You program control panels to protect physical assets and human lives. Your work enables the organization to meet required safety compliance standards. You provide the technical bridge between physical installation and system commissioning.

The organization operates within the integrated fire protection and security industry. They provide automatic fire detection systems and gas suppression equipment. They serve public, private, commercial, and industrial sectors across South Africa.

What You'll Be Doing

• Program addressable fire detection control panels and networked systems.
• Configure logic for fire suppression and gas release sequences.
• Perform system commissioning to ensure compliance with SANS standards.
• Upload site software configurations to hardware systems and download data.
• Troubleshoot software glitches and device communication errors on site.

Required Qualifications

• Possess SAQCC Fire Detection Commissioner certification for compliance.
• Maintain a valid driver's license for client site travel.

Required Experience

• Apply three years of experience programming addressable fire panels.
• Commission large industrial systems for commercial business clients.
• Interpret physical building plans and technical electrical wiring diagrams.
• Apply SANS and NFPA safety codes to daily work duties.
• Troubleshoot data loop communication faults and system earth faults.
