What you will be doing:
- Oversee daily transaction reconciliation across payment processors, banks, and internal systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate settlements with merchants and partners.
- Monitor payment fees, including acquiring, issuing, and card scheme costs.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transaction records and settlements.
- Collaborate with product/engineering teams to improve the financial integrity of the platform.
- Generate regular reports on costs, fees, and margins to support finance and strategy.
- Identify opportunities to optimize payment flows and reduce operational costs.
- Assist in audits, regulatory reporting, and financial compliance activities.
What our client is looking for:
- A relevant tertiary degree would be beneficial.
- 2 - 5 years of experience in financial operations, payments, fintech, or reconciliation-heavy roles.
- Strong understanding of payment gateways, card schemes, and settlement processes.
- High proficiency with Excel / Google Sheets; knowledge of SQL or data tools is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with AWS is essential, particularly in the context of data processing, reporting, or cloud cost monitoring.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a process-driven mindset.
- Familiarity with transaction cost structures and fee optimization.
- Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience with tools like Looker, Tableau, or reconciliation platforms.
- Exposure to automated reporting or reconciliation systems.
- Familiarity with cloud cost tracking and optimization, especially in AWS-based environments, if the role involves infrastructure-related FinOps responsibilities.
