My client based in Bellville is currently looking for a Financial Systems Integrations to join their team on a contract basis.
IT/ FINANCE
Qualifications
- 8-10 years' software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a lead/tech lead/mentoring role
- Exposure to financial or accounting platforms (ERP, core finance, or similar) and an understanding of business processes they support
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven/domain-driven design
- Extensive hands-on experience building on AWS (or equivalent cloud), including computers, messaging, storage, and networking
- Proven ability to integrate cloud and on-premise enterprise systems (e.g., SAP)
- Track record of delivering integration projects in large, complex environments
- Experience mentoring engineers and recruiting to fill skill gaps
- Strong system design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small engineering team (4-8 engineers); recruit as needed
- Drive end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of financial systems integrations
- Modernise interfaces for enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP on-premise)
- Build distributed systems using microservices, event-driven and domain-driven design, messaging, and API patterns
- Work primarily on AWS services (compute, storage, messaging, serverless) while integrating with on-premise enterprise systems
- Ensure operational excellence: monitoring, logging, reliability, and fault tolerance
- Perform code and design reviews; set best practices for integration, security, and performance
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Manage technical debt responsibly and evolve interfaces over time
- Maintain delivery quality through automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, compliance, and audit standards
