About the position

Postion Summary:
The National Research Foundation (NRF) seeks to make an appointment for the position of Financial System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and functional support for Microsoft D365 Finance and Operations (F&O) in production and non-production environments
  • Incident and defect management and resolution for Microsoft D365 F&O, NRF Connect functionality on D365 F&O, and Group Creditor Database (GCD)
  • Setting up structures in Microsoft D365 F&O and GCD for new companies
  • Conduct design review sessions with end users to ensure that the financial applications are functioning as designed and supporting their needs
  • Develop and maintain financial reports using financial report writer, SSRS reports on the Business Intelligence (BI) server
  • Partner with stakeholders to define functional, data and business intelligence requirements
  • Prepare functional requirements by analysing current workflows to improve the quality and efficiency of the application Understanding the impacts of changes recommended Author technical design documentation, assess technical feasibility, analyse business workflows and configuration needs
  • Conduct system functionality testing
  • Assist in the defining and development of test plan documentation to support system validation and or user acceptance testing
  • Testing functionality of upgrades within approved test plans
  • Testing integrations from other systems to the upgraded environmentProvision of training following upgrades or new developments/systemsIdentify and manage service provider on maintaining the Group Creditor Database, including licensing agreements

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7

Minimum Experience:
  • 5-8 years
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (NQ 7) 5 years of experience in a systems administrator or business role ideally with a finance focus
  • 5 years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations

Experience:
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 Report Writer report authoring tools preferred
  • Experience to assist with designing, implementing, testing, and documenting integration to external systems (Symplexity and GCD)Sound Project Management experience

Knowledge:
  • General finance backgroundFinance modules (General ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Cashbook, Fixed assets L, financial reporting, etc
  • )Distribution (inventory management, order processing, procurement, sales, etc
  • )Integration experience including knowledge of data extracts to MS Office Products tools required
  • Microsoft D365 workflow system functionality
  • Manage Microsoft D365 user setup, roles/security, and approval workflows
  • System Integration Expertise with Software Development knowledge
