Financial Operations Payments Specialist

About the position

Our client is looking for a Financial Operations Payments Specialist to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting all elements of the payments function within the business, including dealing with card transaction authorisations, disputes, chargebacks and fraud monitoring.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing, authorising and monitoring card transactions to prevent fraud and ensuring compliance
• Proactively monitoring transaction activity, particularly in instances of suspected fraud
• Performing a review of transaction warnings and taking appropriate measures to ensure concerns are resolved appropriately
• Administering and maintaining internal watchlist to prevent fraud
• Identifying and tracking emerging fraud trends, escalating concerns where necessary
• Working closely with relevant teams to review suspicious activity and recommending appropriate remedial actions
• Managing chargeback queries and disputes both efficiently and professionally
• Supporting clients when gathering documentation for dispute responses when chargebacks are raised
• Ensuring accurate record-keeping of dispute cases and outcomes
• Supporting the collections process
• Evaluating processes and, where needed, suggesting process improvements to streamline and strengthen tasks and workflows
• Researching and considering the use of tools to support the Financial Operations function
• Preparing reports relating to disputes, chargebacks, and fraud trends

Requirements:

• More than 4 years' experience in a financial operations role within a payments environment
• Previous experience with fraud monitoring, chargeback management, and payment dispute resolution would be advantageous
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
