About the position
Our client is seeking a Financial Officer to join their finance department and manage key administrative and reconciliation functions. The role includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and petty cash reconciliations, payment processing, record keeping, and maintaining financial controls.
Duties will include:
- Key Accounts & Accounts Receivable: Managing customer accounts by performing reconciliations, processing credit notes and returns, allocating payments, ensuring balances are collected, issuing statements, and assisting with bad debt management.
- Bank & Payments: Executing monthly bank reconciliations, matching transactions, uploading payments, verifying recipient details, managing new beneficiary documentation, and ensuring compliance with payment request procedures via ClickUp.
- Accounts Payable: Maintaining accurate supplier balances through reconciliations, invoice matching, and resolving any discrepancies, in addition to loading bills for operational expenses.
- Petty Cash: Overseeing petty cash controls, reconciling records against physical cash, and ensuring all expenses are properly documented and recorded in the accounting system.
- Warehouse & Operational Finance: Ordering consumables, managing maintenance billing, verifying weekly casual wages, and aligning payment schedules with company cash flow.
- Filing & Record Keeping: Maintaining systematic digital and physical records for financial documents like invoices and GRNs, while ensuring files are archived correctly for audit purposes.
Requirements:
- Able to communicate in both English and Afrikaans (Both written and verbal) (Essential)
- Experience within the FMCG environment
- Experience with Key Account Reconciliations.
- Must be able to work in office full time (5 days per week).
- Experience working on Shoprite and Takealot supplier portals. (Essential)
- Experience with Xero Accounting Software (Advantageous)
