A leading player within the heavy equipment and industrial sector is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of the finance function and partner closely with leadership to drive strategic decision-making, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially astute CA(SA) who enjoys balancing technical finance responsibilities with leadership, business partnering, and operational involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the full finance function
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes
- Prepare and review management accounts and financial statements
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Deliver insightful financial analysis to support executive decision-making
- Operational & Commercial Finance
- Partner with operational teams to improve business performance
- Monitor profitability, margins, and key financial metrics
- Provide strategic recommendations to improve efficiencies and returns
- Support capital expenditure planning and asset management initiatives
- Assist with business growth and expansion projects
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Manage audit processes and external stakeholder relationships
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks
- Oversee risk management and compliance initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Drive accountability and performance across the department
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
Job Experience and Skills Required
- CA(SA) qualification (non-negotiable)
- 5–10 years post-articles experience
- Minimum 3 years management experience
- Proven experience managing the full finance function
- Exposure to heavy equipment, yellow machinery, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, or related sectors highly advantageous
- Strong technical accounting and financial management capability
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business partnering
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience
