Our client is a respected player within the Education sector, shaping learning environments while managing the operational complexity that comes with growth and scale. Based in Durban North, they’re looking for a commercially aware Financial Manager to lead the finance function and support strategic decision-making across the business. You’ll work closely with leadership, operational teams and stakeholders to ensure the organisation remains financially healthy, compliant and future-focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full financial management function across the business
  • Prepare and review management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
  • Manage cash flow, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead month-end and year-end reporting and audit processes
  • Monitor financial performance and provide strategic financial insights
  • Strengthen controls, processes, and operational efficiencies
  • Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, planning, and decision-making
  • Lead and support the finance team

Job Experience and Skills Required:

  • BCom / CIMA / CA(SA) qualification
  • 5+ years’ post-articles experience in a Financial Management role
  • Education industry experience essential
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting and operational finance experience
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially minded with a hands-on approach to finance
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, people-driven environment
