Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the finance function across multiple regions, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
- Prepare management accounts, financials, and departmental reports for 50+ divisions.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Drive process improvements and enhance financial systems, ensuring reporting accuracy.
System Experience:
- Preferred experience with Sage Intacct (importing budgets, maintaining dashboards, and managing user access).
- Administer financial systems to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.
- Customise and maintain financial reports for senior management.
People Management & Leadership:
- Manage a team of 8+ finance professionals, ensuring clear role definition and effective delegation.
- Provide coaching and technical support to develop team capability and foster performance.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Ensure month-end close is completed within agreed deadlines.
- Deliver management reports, dashboards, and forecasts on time and error-free.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Dashboards:
- Ensure accurate and timely import of budgets and forecasts into Sage Intacct.
- Maintain and update dashboards in alignment with executive requirements.
Cash Flow, Working Capital & Control:
- Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts and ensure working capital is managed effectively.
Compliance, Audit & Governance:
- Ensure all statutory and audit requirements are met, maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Qualified accountant with a degree (preferably professionally qualified).
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in financial management.
- Proven experience in managing an accounting team of at least 8 people.
- Strong experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Advanced Excel
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred but not required.
- Experience in Manufacturing / Mining / Energy / Construction will be beneficial.
The proposed salary for the role is R60k - R80k per month - the final offer will depend on qualifications, experience and skills.
