You're a hands-on, technically strong finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial environment. You're known for your accuracy, your analytical mind, and your ability to turn numbers into strategy. You're equally comfortable diving into the details and stepping back to see the bigger picture.
You'll take ownership of the full finance function for a proudly South African manufacturing business. You'll oversee all financial reporting, compliance, and audit requirements while leading the budgeting and forecasting process across departments. Working closely with operations, you'll play a key role in cost control, margin analysis, and stock accuracy. Your role will also focus heavily on cash flow and treasury management, ensuring financial health and operational liquidity. You'll lead and mentor the finance team, enhance internal controls, and support process improvements and system optimisation. It's a strategic, multifaceted role where your impact will be tangible.
Our client is a leading player in the steel manufacturing sector, supplying critical industries like mining, construction, and energy. Based in Germiston, Johannesburg South, the organisation is renowned for its focus on operational excellence and long-standing reputation for quality. With a collaborative, fast paced environment and a commitment to high standards, this role provides the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a challenging and rewarding setting. This role is Monday to Friday, in office with hours being 7am to 16:30 Monday to Thursday, Fridays 7am to 2pm. As with majority of finance roles, there will be extra hours needed.
You'll need a BCom in Accounting or Financial Management, with a CA (SA) or CIMA qualification seen as a strong advantage. Your background must include at least 5-8 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with solid experience in operational finance, inventory, and product costing. You must bring strong IFRS knowledge, South African tax expertise, and advanced Excel and ERP skills. Leadership, commercial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration will be key to your success.
