RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION
- Effective management of staff
- Ensure financial governance through the implementation of control measures (including systems and processes) and checks within each department to mitigate any financial risk to the business
- Monthly financial accounting, management reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Management of the cash, bank and accounts payable functions
- Maintaining of Internal Control Standards
- Annual audit and financial statements
- Asset control and fixed asset accounting
- Preparation and review of taxation and tax compliance (incl. income tax, vat and gambling tax)
- Compiling and maintaining of departmental budget
- Monthly reporting to Group Financial Manager
- Compiling reports and financial packs for submission to the Board of Directors
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- 3-year BComm Accounting / 4-year post Graduate Diploma
- 5 years' experience (of which 2 years includes staff management)
- Registration with a Professional Accounting body would be an advantage
- Knowledge of SA tax
- Knowledge of gambling tax would be beneficial
- Excellent report writing skills and proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, an accounting package (preferably Great Plains) and a fixed asset package
- Display effective leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively to meet tightly scheduled deadlines
- Willing to work overtime (when required)

About The Employer:
My client operates seven (7) subsidiary companies, in the gambling industry, across four (4) provinces.
The company operates Limited Payout Machines (LPM's), whereby we enter into agreements with site-owners (pubs, sports betting outlets, etc.) and deploy LPM's into these businesses.
The revenue generated from the LPM's is shared on a split revenue basis between the company on the site-owners.
The position will be based at their Regional Offeces in Edenvale, Gauteng.
