Key Responsibilities:
Finance
- Departmental Management:
- Analysing performance and risk to drive financial planning and efficiency.
- Holding constant awareness of the financial position of the company and acting swiftly to prevent issues from arising.
- Supervision and target-setting of all financial personnel.
- Overseeing all audit and internal control operations.
- Reviewing internal IFRS for validity, accuracy and completeness
- Developing the corporate fundraising strategy.
- Managing relationships with shareholders and investors.
- Preparing timely and detailed reports on financial performance quarterly and annually.
- Conducting analyses to make forecasts and budgets, reporting to the Managing Director and Board of Directors,
- Ensuring adherence to financial laws and guidelines.
- Preparation of budgets for Coria, NMS, and the Funding Entities.
- Updating models, as well as lenders and funders models.
- Responsible for tax clearance certification.
- Ensuring integration and optimisation of organisational activities in terms of finance, operations, and ED SED.
- Performing final reviews of all tasks, including taxes, accounting work, ED SED obligations, and Annual Financial Statements.
- Leadership:
- Management and motivation of staff.
- Mentoring, personal development, performance reviews and goal setting of employees.
- Distributions:
- Calculating distributions (CAFD), cashflow availabilities and expectations.
- Updating operational models, deal models and BCFM updates.
- Engaging with stakeholders.
- Updating debt covenants and compliance certificates.
- Obtaining required lender and stakeholder approval.
- Responsible for resolutions, liquidity and solvency tests, and other governance.
- Commercial Contract Management:
- Reviewing, compiling, and evaluating new agreements.
- Tracking of commercial terms on existing contracts.
- Assistance with contractual disputes and settlements.
- Verifying invoicing and calculations.
- Reviewing contracts annually.
- Monitoring PSSA compliance certificates and trigger events.
- Responsible for information and undertaking requirements.
- Annual guarantee renewal process and credit approvals
- Project Finance:
- Structuring and projecting of project finance.
- Analysing and evaluating model scenarios.
- Analysing risk and refinancing value propositions.
- Assessing funder and tax implications on model projections.
- Tracking of overall management meeting progress, task delegation and integration
Overall responsibility of the annual commitment list.
Requirements:
- Ideally a CA(SA) qualification, however candidates with completed articles and strong relevant experience will also be considered
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role
- Strong exposure to budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, cashflow management and strategic financial planning
- Experience managing finance across multiple entities
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence strategic business decisions
- Excellent understanding of governance, compliance, taxation and reporting
- Exposure to project finance, funding structures and stakeholder management would be highly advantageous
- A highly structured, analytical and solutions-driven approach
