Position Overview:
This is a strategic position, best suited to someone seeking an active role in running the organisation - someone who will add value to the business by ensuring reports are accurate, but more importantly, by assessing the information and making recommendations across the financial spectrum, from cost efficiency to identifying profitable product lines. This includes KPI management, budgeting, and cash flow monitoring. You will have a highly skilled team of four to support you. With payroll outsourced, you'll have the opportunity to focus on higher-level operational needs.
What you will be doing:
- Maintaining and reviewing financial processes, including general ledger reconciliations, Bill of Material, import costings, and monthly reporting.
- Continuously improving internal controls to protect assets, ensure data accuracy, and prevent fraud, while developing and refining internal policies.
- Collaborating with production management to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and drive continuous improvement.
- Analysing production data to identify bottlenecks, evaluate operational costs, and recommend efficiency measures.
- Building positive relationships with key service providers and contractors to support strategic initiatives and optimise resource allocation.
- Supporting and guiding financial strategy, including risk mitigation, opportunity forecasting, and benchmarking to enhance performance.
- Leading continuous improvement projects (e.g., lean management) and providing data-driven forecasts to enable informed decision-making.
What our client is looking for:
- A financial degree with a major in cost and/or management accounting would be ideal, but not required.
- 10+ years' experience in financial management and/or cost accounting/financial controlling.
- Advanced Excel skills and Syspro ideally but any similar software experience is important.
- Understanding of the manufacturing and textile industry would be highly desirable
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Sound knowledge and practical experience applying lean management principles to optimize production, including the ability to communicate suggested changes and translate findings into business improvements.
- Sound business acumen.
- Strong attention to detail, proactive problem-solving and organizational skills.
