About the position
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of the finance function and provide commercial and operational financial leadership across the business
This is a broad, hands-on role suited to an experienced finance professional who enjoys working across financial reporting, budgeting, inventory, fixed assets, tax compliance, ERP systems administration and continuous process improvement within a manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong financial controls
- Prepare monthly management accounts, reconciliations and financial analysis
- Manage annual budgets, forecasting and cash flow planning
- Oversee debtors, creditors, inventory, fixed assets and general ledger
- Review landed costing, stock variances and inventory valuations
- Manage VAT, EMP201, provisional tax and statutory submissions
- Coordinate external audits, BEE audits, ISO audits and tax reviews
- Maintain the fixed asset register and capital expenditure reporting
- Support import transactions and foreign supplier payments
- Maintain ERP master data and financial module integrity
- Review payroll reconciliations and employee cost reporting
- Drive process improvements, SOPs and internal controls
- Lead and develop the finance team
Minimum Requirements
- BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification
- 5-8 years' experience in a Financial Manager or Senior Financial Accountant role
- Manufacturing/industrial experience
- Strong management accounting, costing and inventory knowledge
- Tax and statutory compliance experience
- Advanced Excel and ERP experience (Syspro advantageous)
- Excellent analytical and leadership skills
