About the position
Our international client, operating within the industrial manufacturing industry, currently seeks to appoint a Financial Director to join their growing team in Bedfordview, Germiston, Johannesburg. Reporting into the Managing Director, you will establish, maintain and control the general financial function for the division in order to comply with both internal guidelines and requirements by International Financial Reporting Standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Registered CA(SA) with 5 years' management experience - preferred; or
- BCom with 15 years' experience in management
- Must have experience in the industrial manufacturing/ mining/ engineering/ or similar EPCM sector
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle

Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing and interpreting financial information
- Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
- Provide business information timeously and in a format that allows for quick accurate decision making
- Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
- Preparation of budgets and forecasts to specific deadlines
- Overall management of the company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
- Analyzing change and advising accordingly
- Formulating strategic and long-term business plans
- Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance
- Analyzing competitors and market trends
- Developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- First point of contact with liaising with internal and external auditors
- Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organizations such as the Inland Revenue
- Supervising, training and developing staff
- Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
- Ensure that the company is compliant
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures in line with Africa Group Policies and Procedures
