About the position
Agricultural Environment: We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and commercially minded Financial Controller to take full ownership of the financial management and internal control frameworks. (Located in Pretoria)
You will serve as a critical link between daily operations and long-term financial strategy. You will monitor stock control, analyze market trends, oversee cash flow management, and manage risk variables characteristics.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, variance analyses, and annual financial statements.
- Cash Flow & Risk Management: Monitor, project, and optimize cash flow allocations while mitigating foreign exchange and commodity pricing risks.
- Operational Accounting & Inventory: Partner with logistics coordinators to ensure highly accurate stock control, inventory valuation, and distribution cost auditing.
- Internal Controls: Establish, maintain, and review robust financial governance and accounting procedures to protect company assets.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop operational budgets, minimize unnecessary expenditures, and maximize profitability.
- Audit & Compliance: Act as the primary liaison for annual external audits and ensure strict compliance with regulatory structures.
Requirements & Key Competencies
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in financial control or senior accounting management. Experience within agriculture, agri-business, logistics, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office and Pastel
