About the position

DBN000187– Financial Controller – Cape Town

Purpose of the Job:
To lead the hotel’s finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and strategic financial support to drive business performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a Financial Controller in a hotel environment.
  • Proven business insight with solid auditing and commercial expertise.
  • Proficient in POS and PMS systems, and AccPac or similar accounting software.

Technical Competencies & Experience:

  • Develop annual budgets and strategic plans in collaboration with management and shareholders.
  • Oversee year-end financial reporting in line with Group policies.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and head office reports.
  • Produce profit, revenue, and board reports.
  • Conduct budget forecasts, cash flow analysis, and special financial studies.
  • Support the General Manager with commercial, legal, insurance, and capital expenditure decisions.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting systems.
  • Maintain compliance with Group financial policies and statutory regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and service providers.
