About the position

Postion Summary:
The SAEON Finance support team serves SAEON employees who are sitting in offices that are distributed across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payments to travel suppliersReconciliation and payment of local and international tripsChecking of the bank statements for direct entries (payments and deposits) and input these into the accounting systemPerform reconciliation between cashbook and bank statementAssist with travel Coordination on an ad-hoc basisProcess bursary paymentsAdministrate vehicle fleet cards Ad hoc finance duties

Minimum Qualification:

• Higher Certificate / Advanced National Certificate / Vocational 5 / N6 / NQF 5

Minimum Experience:

• 3-4 years

• National Certificate in Finance/ Accounting or equivalent National Diploma or Degree in Finance/Accounting would be advantageous

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the finance and procurement or similar functionalitiesExperience in General Ledger control accounts and accounting activities
• Compiling reconciliations as well as following standard operating procedures
• Computer software skills including MS Office and Accounting/ERP system

Knowledge:

• Demonstrate understanding of procurement and accounting workflow processes
• Sound knowledge of National Treasury Regulations, PPPFA regulations and the PFMA
• Sound knowledge of, and/or experience with Accounting control systemsDemonstrable high level of analytical and interpretive skillsDemonstrable ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in handling and presenting data and information Demonstrable ability to analyse and verify procedures and transactions accurately and logically
