About the position
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a skilled Financial Accountant to join our finance team on a temporary basis for a period of six months. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our financial accounting functions and responsibilities. We are looking for someone experienced, technically proficient, and ready to hit the ground running. Your expertise will be key in maintaining seamless operations and resolving any external audit findings as we prepare for the upcoming audit.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining financial records: Recording transactions, updating statements, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting;
- Financial analysis: Analysing financial data, trends, and performance metrics to provide insights and support decision-making;
- Budgeting and forecasting: Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning and strategy;
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies;
- Audit support: Coordinating and assisting with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries;
- Financial reporting: Preparing financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders;
- Process improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness;
- Stakeholder communication: Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to provide financial information, analysis, and support;
- Ad-hoc projects: Supporting special projects and initiatives as required by the finance team or management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field;
- SAICA, SAIPA, or CIMA Accredited;
- Minimum 7 years of working experience in financial accounting and reporting including preparation of GRAP financial statements;
- Advanced knowledge of Caseware;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team;
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations;
