About the position
Join a leading industrial manufacturing group in the East Rand and take ownership of the full finance function for local operations. This hands-on role offers strong exposure to costing, stock control, and management reporting within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Purpose of the Role:
To manage the full financial accounting function for the South African manufacturing entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and support for operational efficiency within a high-volume, multi-plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Prepare management accounts and financial statements for the South African companies.
- Manage tax, VAT, and statutory submissions in compliance with South African regulations.
- Support cost accounting and stock control functions in collaboration with production teams.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Provide financial insight to improve plant performance and cost efficiency.
- Work closely with the Financial Manager and EXCO to ensure accurate reporting and budgeting.
Requirements:
- BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification (completed articles advantageous).
- Willing to work overtime.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems (e.g. Syspro, SAP, or similar).
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
