About the position
Financial Accountant, Cape Town
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with demonstrable experience in monthly and quarterly financial reporting, IFRS compliance, and advanced Excel proficiency. Exposure to multi-entity environments and asset management operations is essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports in line with IFRS standards
- Manage intercompany transactions, balance sheet reconciliations, and VAT submissions
- Support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate with auditors
- Maintain and enhance Excel-based financial models and reporting tools
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and strategic alignment
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, particularly around automation and reporting efficiency
- Provide financial insights to support portfolio and operational decision-making
Requirements
- CA (SA) qualification with completed articles
- Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience in financial accounting
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 15 and IFRS 16
- Demonstrated experience with monthly and quarterly close cycles
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas, financial modelling)
- Experience working in multi-entity or multinational environments
- Exposure to asset management, fund accounting, or investment operations
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
