Financial Accountant
Location: Germiston, Gauteng
Position Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to R50,000 per month (Negotiable based on qualifications and experience)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing intercompany transactions, preparing financial statements, and overseeing accounts payable processes. You will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and financial insights while managing a small team within the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable
• Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements and reports
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant tax laws and submit statutory returns
• Support internal and external audit processes
• Manage intercompany loan accounts and transactions across the group
• Reconcile intercompany balances and resolve any discrepancies
• Prepare intercompany invoices and ensure correct financial treatment
• Provide support to the broader accounting team and mentor junior staff
• Perform other finance-related duties as required
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of team members within the accounting department

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles (preferred)
• At least 10 years' relevant accounting experience
• Strong working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Clear credit and criminal record checks
• Verified highest level of education
• Contactable and credible references
