About the position

Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their successful team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a clerical and administrative support in respect of general ledger (GL) accounts and assisting with the administration of all companies within the Group. You will assist with ad hoc requests from Senior Finance staff and prepare and provide accurate information on all documentation. You will also ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and reviewing cashbooks, and performing monthly bank account reconciliations for entities in the Group
  • Preparing and managing ad hoc EFT payments
  • Preparing income tax schedules for tax returns disclosure purposes for all entities in the Group
  • Maintaining petty cash
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register/fixed assets administration
  • Administering and maintaining forward exchange contracts
  • Updating daily exchange rates on financial system
  • Preparing monthly general journals including Interest calculations for various loans
  • Preparing and maintaining monthly GL recons including intercompany recharges
  • Preparing VAT returns

Requirements:

  • B.Com degree with major in Accounting
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in GL entries, cashbook and intercompany entries would be preferable
  • Computer literacy - MS Office (With a high proficiency in MS Excel)
