Financial Accountant

About the position

Our client is a fast-paced, operationally excellent, owner-managed company committed to providing a dynamic and rewarding work environment where team members can grow and develop their careers. They are looking for a highly skilled Accountant to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly variance analysis of income statement and balance sheet.
• Review ledgers to ensure accurate coding of revenue and cost to GL accounts and divisions.
• Assist with production of financial and management accounts.
• Preparation of monthly VAT Turnover reconciliation and submission of VAT 201.
• Verify stock transactions and reconcile stock takes and report variances.
• Handle HP finance, maintain fixed asset registers, and oversee depreciation schedules.
• Assist with the preparation of supporting documents for relevant SARS audits.
• Assist with audit file preparation for both internal and external auditors.
• Work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure robust financial controls.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles advantageous.
• BCom Accounting/Finance degree.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably within a small to medium-sized business.
• Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience with XERO; Spotlight Reporting would be advantageous.
• Proficient in advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and pivot tables.
