Financial Accountant / Group Accountant

About the position

A JSE Listed manufacturer based in the East Rand is looking to employ a Group Accountant / Financial Accountant with 5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• BCom degree
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role in a manufacturing industry
• SAP or similar ERP experience
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle
• The Financial Accountant is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the company’s financial operations
• Build and lead a strong finance team.
• Oversee all financial reporting and accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures and monitor their effectiveness.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis related to costs, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulatory requirements.
• Manage the preparation of budgets, financial projections, and other financial reports, and provide regular updates on financial performance to key stakeholders.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support decision making by management.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations
• Analyze and interpret variances between actual and budgeted costs, investigation reasons for discrepancies and recommending corrective actions as necessary
