About the position

This is an opportunity to play an impactful and integral role within the NMG Consulting finance team, responsible for preparing financial accounts for the organisation and ensuring the financial integrity of the statutory accounts.
The position of Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for Financial Control and Management across our North America and UK divisions. The successful applicant will also work closely with the North America and UK executive teams and business leaders as a Business Partner to ensure financial reporting requirements are in place to support the achievement of strategic and commercial objectives and growth targets.
This position will suit a self-motivated individual who possesses strong technical skills and can work well within a small finance team. A positive and enthusiastic approach is essential, along with the ability to converse and influence successfully with colleagues at all levels, including senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing statutory financial accounts (P&L review, Balance sheet review and intercompany reconciliation)
  • Responsible for timely monthly and year-end closing activities including journal entries for accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and following up on areas of concern within the reconciliations
  • Ensuring the accuracy of accounting data is in-line with Company policies
  • Preparing client invoices and reviewing collections as well as ensuring accurate reporting of Accounts Receivable and doubtful debts
  • Cash flow management/forecasting
  • Preparing and ensuring timely submission of statutory government filings and annual returns
  • Responsible for tax related matters; quarterly tax returns, tax filing and liaising with tax agents on the tax matters of the Company
  • Processing vendor payments
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Responsible for audit (audit planning, liaising with auditors)
  • Stakeholder management
  • Identify, lead and undertake ad-hoc analysis and strategic projects for North America as required to drive efficiency and performance
  • Implementing accounting policies and internal control procedures and ensuring compliance

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIEINCE

  • Degree qualified in Accountancy or Finance
  • A relevant accounting background with at least 5 years working experience
  • Advanced skills in Excel and Word
  • Experience with SAP finance system
  • Team player
  • Positive & enthusiastic approach
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to proactively deal with senior management
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
