About the position

Join a purpose-driven organisation at a pivotal stage in its financial and operational development. As Financial Accountant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring financial integrity, strengthening reporting processes, and enabling confident decision-making across all areas of the business.

With year-end activity approaching and continued transformation across finance systems and controls, this is an exciting opportunity to bring structure, insight, and calm professionalism to a fast-paced, values-led environment.

What you'll gain:

Influence and visibility - work closely with senior leaders and operational teams, providing trusted analysis and insight that shapes decisions and drives accountability.

Ownership and impact - take responsibility for year-end reporting, management accounts, and audit preparation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with FRS 102 and Charities SORP.

Growth and collaboration - partner with experienced finance colleagues and contribute to the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and reporting standards.

Flexibility and balance - this role is fully remote, offering the freedom to deliver high-quality outcomes from wherever you work best, with supportive colleagues and clear expectations.

Attractive benefits - competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement, pension scheme, wellbeing support, and professional development opportunities.

What you'll do:

  • Lead on month-end and year-end close activities - including journals, reconciliations, and adjustments - ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare statutory and management financial statements in accordance with FRS 102 and Charities SORP.
  • Coordinate and compile audit deliverables, acting as the key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Maintain a robust control environment through balance sheet reconciliations, lead schedules, and clear audit trails.
  • Produce insightful management accounts, variance analysis, and financial commentary to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Partner with teams across the organisation to enhance financial understanding and ensure budgetary discipline.
  • Support the review of going concern assessments, impairment analyses, and financial risk monitoring.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes, documentation standards, and audit readiness.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, templates, and reporting tools that support consistency and transparency across finance.

What you'll need:

  • Qualified Accountant.
  • Proven experience in financial and management accounting, including year-end close and audit preparation.
  • Strong technical understanding of FRS 102, IFRS, and ideally Charities accounting.
  • Excellent Excel skills, including reconciliations, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience preparing lead schedules, audit-ready documentation, and statutory financial statements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach - with calmness and confidence under pressure.
  • Knowledge of charity or multi-entity finance environments desirable but not essential.

Why join?

This is more than just a technical accounting role - it's an opportunity to make a tangible difference within an organisation committed to transparency, improvement, and positive impact. You'll have the freedom to work fully remotely, contribute to essential reporting and transformation, and be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking finance team.
