About the position

A leading FMCG Manufacturing client of ours is seeking a Financial Accountant for their Cape Town office in the Southern Suburbs, reporting to the Finance Manager

 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

 

• Prepare accounting transactions and ensure accuracy in financial reporting up to management accounts
• Investigating unexpected variances in the profit & loss account
• Preparing & reviewing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
• Assistance in annual budget preparation and reporting
• Assistance of financial year end lead schedule preparation and reporting
• Maintaining effective financial controls and reporting structures
• Contributing to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performance
• Assisting with ad hoc assignments and projects

 

To be considered for this position candidates will need to meet the following criteria;

• CA (SA) OR Bachelors degree in accounting or related field, AGA(SA) / Professional Accountant (SA) with 3+ years of experience in a similar role
• SAP experience or knowledge would be advantageous
• Confident and independent person who is a fast learner
• Being a team player
• Ability to use own initiative and work with minimum supervision
• Able to work flexible working hours (overtime when/if needed)
• Able to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
• A strong entrepreneurial ability
