Hire Resolve’s Client is looking for a skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to oversee the financial accounting functions across six entities in Cape Town. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys working with complex financial operations, managing multiple entities and ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, overseeing reporting processes, managing SARS requirements and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain general ledger accounts across six entities.
• Oversee month-end and year-end financial accounting processes.
• Prepare, review and reconcile trial balances.
• Ensure accurate financial records, reconciliations and accounting entries.
• Manage SARS compliance, including VAT returns and income tax requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and prepare supporting audit documentation.
• Assist with annual budgets, financial forecasting and financial planning.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Analyse financial results, identify variances and provide meaningful reporting insights.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information across all entities.

Minimum Requirements

• BCom in Accounting or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant financial accounting experience.
• Candidates with completed accounting articles and at least 2 years of relevant post-articles experience will be considered.
• Alternatively, candidates without completed articles must have approximately 4–5 years of relevant financial accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience managing multiple entities.
• Good understanding of SARS compliance, including VAT and income tax.
• Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
• Strong English communication skills (essential).
• Afrikaans proficiency will be advantageous.
