The Role
This isn't a traditional accounting position, but it certainly leverages strong financial administration skills. As a Financial Officer, you'll be responsible for end-to-end daily reconciliation of financial transactions across multiple complex systems. This role demands exceptional accuracy, swift identification, and resolution of discrepancies, ensuring the highest level of precision in financial operations. A key part of your contribution will involve dispute management and providing vital back-office support to their diverse client base. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a production-focused environment where meticulous attention to detail and efficiency are paramount.
Your Daily Duties
- Reconcile card transactions across Visa, MasterCard, and other schemes, ensuring compliance with rules and SLAs.
- Resolve discrepancies in interbank settlements and card payment services.
- Perform daily financial balancing, including bank settlements and disputes.
- Manage disputes using relevant systems, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Liaise with banking partners to ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications: A National Diploma (Ndip) or BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in bank and cashbook reconciliations.
- Experience with Pastel software is a significant advantage.
- Experience within the payment solutions industry is a strong requirement.
- Strong knowledge of various card schemes (e.g., Visa, MasterCard) is highly beneficial.
- Experience in interbank card switching, payment services, and dispute management systems is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with local payment rules and settlement processes is preferred.
- Previous experience from "Big 5" banks is a plus, particularly within corporate or operations functions.
