About the position

Postion Summary:
The National Research Foundation (NRF) seeks to make an appointment for the position of Finance Officer who will report to the Finance Manager: SAASTA, within Research, Innovation and Impact Support and Advancement (RIISA) at the business unit SAASTA. This is an Employment Equity position and preferred candidates would be: coloured male/female, white male/female and Indian female. The position will be based at NRF, Business Unit SAASTA in Pretoria CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable;Issuing of travel and other purchase orders;Ensure that the asset register is kept up to date at all times by capitalizing asset;Processing of supplier invoices on D365;Reconcile all suppliers’ invoices to monthly (supplier) statements prior to preparation of a payment approval form for those suppliers (creditors); Follow up with suppliers and BU’s invoices outstanding for over 30days;Maintain and update allocated suppliers accounts by reviewing suppliers’ age analysis
• Maintain updated vendor information on D365 by doing roll downs from the CSD portal for service providers responsible for
• Administer day-to-day finances and assist with queriesAdminister payment of bills, invoices and staff and volunteer expense claims Ensure financial controls are adhered to Assist in preparation of year-end processes and audit Undertake any other duties as requested by the Manager: Finance and Admin

Minimum Qualification:

• Diploma / Advanced Certificate / NQF 6

Minimum Experience:

• 3-6 years

• Diploma (NQF 6) in Accounting
• 3 Years work experience

Experience:

• 3 years’ experience in a finance department with specific experience in financial accounting/business management/operations

• Practical knowledge of financial reconciliations, accounting systems (e
