Financial Manager (FMCG)Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced, highly analytical Financial Manager for a leading FMCG corporate client in Cape Town. Reporting to executive leadership, this key role takes complete ownership of maintaining overall financial integrity across high-volume FMCG operations—with a dedicated focus on non-current asset registers, IFRS lease and instalment accounting, Syspro ERP roll-overs, insurance risk management, and board pack compilations.
Key Performance Areas:
- Financial Oversight & Reporting: Direct monthly management account preparation, assemble comprehensive Board Packs, and deliver profit forecast (PF) commentary, key support schedules, and annual budget analysis.
- Fixed Asset & Lease Management: Oversee and reconcile fixed asset and wear-and-tear registers. Ensure correct accounting for additions, disposals, transfers, and useful life adjustments. Review Syspro depreciation/amortisation schedules and ensure full compliance with non-current asset standards.
- Instalment Sale Agreements: Direct the management and accounting of instalment sale agreements, ensuring correct capital/interest component splits, interest rate applications, and balance reconciliations.
- Month-End Operations & ERP Integrity: Lead month-end roll-over procedures within the ERP system (Syspro), post key journals (Insurance, Repairs & Maintenance), and review balance sheet reconciliations under tight reporting timelines.
- Insurance & Corporate Risk: Oversee insurance broker relationships, policy renewals, customer insurance confirmations, and maintain the company risk register alongside departmental leaders to mitigate key operational exposures.
- Audit Leadership: Coordinate internal and external audit requests to ensure seamless, compliant statutory reviews.
Minimum Requirements:- Education: Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant financial management/senior accounting experience, preferably within the FMCG or manufacturing industry.
- Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles will be highly advantageous.
- Technical Mastery: In-depth knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and strong financial reporting capabilities. Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas); Power BI skills are advantageous.
- ERP Experience: Proven hands-on experience with ERP systems; Syspro experience and integrated barcode scanning tool exposure are strongly preferred.
- Leadership & Personal Attributes: Proven ability to lead projects to completion, exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, strong team collaboration, and the resilience to perform under deadline pressure.
Position Details & Work Model:- Location & Relocation Plan: Currently based in Tokai. The role will permanently relocate to Montague Park, Montague Gardens in May 2027.
- Work Arrangement: Currently operates on a Hybrid schedule (In-office Tuesdays & Fridays, with full-week in-office attendance during month-end). Please note: Work mode will convert to 100% full-time in-office upon relocation in May 2027.
- Salary Offer: Negotiable Cost to Company per annum (negotiable based on experience).
- Target Start Date: ASAP.
