About the position
An established agricultural and food processing business is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the full financial function of its abattoir operations. The role focuses on financial planning, reporting, compliance, cost control, and strategic decision-making to ensure financial sustainability and operational efficiency in a regulated, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full finance function including accounts, budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
- Lead financial planning, analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with SARS, SARB, and statutory regulations.
- Oversee audit processes, tax compliance, and risk management.
- Support business growth through cost control and profitability improvement.
- Maintain and optimise ERP and financial systems.
- Manage credit control, cash flow, and treasury functions.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with operations and head office to align financial and business strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
- BCom / BTech / BSc in Accounting or Financial Management (CA(SA) advantageous).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior finance role within manufacturing, agriculture, or FMCG sectors.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, taxation, and cost accounting.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAGE, Xero) and advanced Excel.
- Proven experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and audit coordination.
